The Guizhou admission brochure for international students, produced in April 2026, lists five diploma-level (专科) programmes at Guizhou Light Industry Polytechnic University (贵州轻工职业大学, Guizhou Light Industry Polytechnic University). It gives each programme's department, major and length of study. It does not give tuition, scholarship amounts or an application deadline. Those items have to be confirmed on the university's official site.
What the brochure says about the institution
According to the brochure, the university was approved by the Guizhou Provincial People's Government in February 2004. It was formed by merging the Guizhou First Light Industry School (founded 1977) and the Guizhou Second Light Industry School (founded 1979). It is a full-time public higher vocational college under the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education. Its main focus is higher vocational education. It also offers secondary vocational education and pre- and post-employment training.
In June 2025, the brochure states, the Ministry of Education approved establishing Guizhou Light Industry Polytechnic University on the basis of the former Guizhou Light Industry Technical College. It is described as a public undergraduate-level vocational institution.
The brochure also lists several national honours the college has received. These include the National Huang Yanpei Outstanding Vocational Education Award, the first batch of national modern apprenticeship pilot institutions, and a "Double High-Level" vocational college and major construction unit. The brochure presents these as its own description of the college. This article does not verify them separately.
