Guizhou Aerospace Vocational and Technical College (贵州航天职业技术学院): What the Guizhou Admission Brochure Lists for International Students

Sources checked

The Guizhou provincial admission brochure, 《贵州来华留学招生简章》(Education in Guizhou), lists two international student tracks at Guizhou Aerospace Vocational and Technical College (贵州航天职业技术学院, Guizhou Aerospace Vocational and Technical College): a one-year language track and a three-year college diploma track. This article sets out what the brochure says for each track and what an applicant still needs to confirm directly with the university.

What the brochure lists

The brochure gives the following program entries for the college. Each entry is reproduced as printed.

The table has four columns: 类别 (category), 学制 (length of study), 专业 (major or course), and 备注 (remarks). The remarks column is the only place the brochure states conditions. For the language track, it says that passing HSK Level 3 allows a student to move into the degree-track stage. For the diploma track, it says that students who complete the required credits receive a diploma recognized by the Ministry of Education, and that outstanding students may be recommended to continue at partner undergraduate institutions.

Basic profile of the college

The brochure describes the college as follows:

  • The college was formed in 2000 in May, when the Guizhou Aerospace Staff University (founded in 1984) and the Guizhou Aerospace Senior Technical School (founded in 1976) were merged with approval from the Guizhou Provincial People's Government.
  • It is one of the first batch of public higher vocational and junior college institutions in the province.
  • It was originally affiliated with 中国航天科工集团有限公司. It was transferred to the Zunyi Municipal People's Government in January 2021.
  • It offers full-time credential education at the higher vocational and secondary vocational (technical) levels, along with technician training, adult education, social training, and skills certification and assessment.
  • The brochure describes the college as a provincial "Double High" construction institution.
  • The college launched an international education program in 2017. In 2019 it was on the list of the first batch of Jingshi International Institutes organized by the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange.
  • According to the brochure, the college has enrolled 19 international students from Belt and Road countries, including Thailand and Cambodia.

The college's postal address, as printed in the brochure, is: 中国贵州省遵义市新蒲新区平安大道, postcode 563006.
